1 Excellence Award, 8 Honorable Mentions — Outstanding creativity completed within one week
The 12th “The Little Prince Loves Doodling Drawing Competition”, themed “Happy Friday Night”, invited students across Taiwan to depict joyful weekend moments through creative expression. Students from Ming Chuan University’s Department of Commercial Design delivered outstanding performances, winning 1 Excellence Award and 8 Honorable Mentions—once again demonstrating the department’s excellence in art and design education.
Remarkably, the students completed their works in just one week, independently handling the entire process from concept development and sketching to coloring. The pieces showcase both creativity and emotional depth in composition, color usage, and thematic interpretation, fully reflecting the younger generation’s unique perspective on life and expressive use of color.
The list of award winners is as follows:
Excellence Award: Liu Mei-Pei
Honorable Mentions: Hsieh Hsin-Yu, Huang Yen-Chen, Liao Chih-Chieh, Gan Fu-Shao, Lin Hsin-Hui, Sun Ying-Ping, Yuan Hui-Yu, Fan Tian-Hsin
Under the guidance of Associate Professor Feng Cheng-Chih and Assistant Professor Chen GoYen, students developed their ability to express emotion through color and composition in design and painting courses, with their works frequently recognized by judges. Department Chair Yu Shu-Yin noted that the curriculum emphasizes “a balance between theory and practice, and the integration of creativity with the humanities.” This achievement not only reflects students’ dedication, but also represents the department’s long-term commitment to interdisciplinary teaching.
The Department of Commercial Design at Ming Chuan University will continue to encourage students to participate in domestic and international competitions, while advancing courses in AI design, sustainable visual design, and brand creativity—cultivating a new generation of designers who can change the world through creativity.
