Ming Chuan Commercial Design Shines on the International Stage!

The Department of Commercial Design at Ming Chuan University has added another international achievement. The results of the 2025 Taiwan International Graphic Design Award (TIGDA) were recently announced, with Assistant Professor Chen GoYen standing out among submissions from 53 countries and over 4,532 entries. Professor Chen’s five poster works, which integrate AI-generated imagery, visualization of social issues, and contemporary narrative techniques, earned both a Judges’ Recommendation Award and five Excellence Awards, significantly raising the department’s visibility on the global design stage.

Founded in 2005, the Taiwan International Graphic Design Award has become one of the world’s leading large-scale poster competitions. It provides a vital platform for exchange among designers, art schools, and creative industries worldwide. Guided by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and organized jointly by the Taiwan Design Alliance and the Productivity Center of the Republic of China, the award aims to promote international design interaction and enhance Taiwan’s influence in the global design arena.

The competition encompasses two major categories: the Taiwan International Poster Design Award and the Taiwan International Commercial Design Award, with submissions accepted in Special Topic, Non-Special Topic, Corporate Identity, and Event Identity categories. TIGDA is also regarded as an important indicator for global visual trends and cultural discourse.
