Concept
This exhibition showcases a key achievement of the Ming Chuan University Commercial Design USR (University Social Responsibility) program and industry-academia collaboration. Using Xiao Liuqiu Island as the field site, the project explores environmental ecology, regeneration, and sustainability, investigating the island’s ecological balance and its impact on biodiversity conservation and restoration.
Students transformed their creative ideas into tangible design actions and communication campaigns, promoting ecological sustainability and realizing the spirit of university social responsibility.
The project involved industry, government, and academic resources:
-
Industry: Kangbao Xing Visual & Light Technology
-
Government: Taoyuan Youth Affairs Bureau
-
Academia: Ming Chuan University Commercial Design Department
Using design thinking, the team studied the island’s culture, ecology, and tourism needs to promote ecological awareness and sustainable practices among residents and visitors, creating a more ecologically friendly island community.
The project was awarded 3rd Place in the Industry-Academia Collaboration Category at the 24th Golden Print Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, highlighting the department’s teaching depth, innovation, and connection to local development.
