
Ming Chuan University alumna Hsiao-Yun Chin from South Africa was honored today (October 1) in Taipei by Minister Hsu Chia-Ching of the Overseas Community Affairs Council as a recipient of the 6th Outstanding Overseas Young Person Award.
A graduate of the Department of Commercial Design (Class of 2002), Hsiao-Yun Chin received this prestigious recognition from the OCAC Hua-Hsia Culture and Education Foundation in acknowledgment of her outstanding professional achievements and long-term contributions to the international community in South Africa. The award ceremony was grandly held at 10:00 a.m. on October 1, 2025, at the Grand Hotel in Taipei.
Currently serving as Category Director at Avon Justine in South Africa, she has long been dedicated to product planning and market development, promoting local collaboration and sustainable values while demonstrating exceptional leadership in the workplace. In recent years, she has actively integrated resources between South Africa and overseas Chinese communities, organizing a number of impactful cultural and charitable initiatives. These include hosting the “Brilliant Taiwan” cultural performance, promoting the “Run for Taiwan” charity run, and long-term participation in the “Mandela Day Charity Donation Program”, highlighting her remarkable achievements in citizen diplomacy and social responsibility.
