Creative Concept
The philosophy of dialogue (Dialog philosophie) is a form of design and creation grounded in the "I-Thou relationship", emphasizing sincere and authentic communication. Through ongoing dialogue, it seeks to rediscover and reflect the significance of human existence. Rooted in the love of Christ, it begins with love, aiming to overcome differences and misunderstandings with humility and inclusiveness.
The dialogue between diverse documents and documentary imagery begins with simple elements of literature, history, philosophy, and color, as well as different perspectives in documentary making. It explores the emotional connection between one’s homeland and personal identity—expressed through creative works such as Home-root Puzzle, which convey attachment and reflection toward one’s place of origin.
The value of documentary lies in its authentic representation and in-depth exploration. It is not only a medium of visual reproduction but also a vital witness to cultural memory and social context. Documentaries have the power to uncover hidden narratives, present diverse perspectives, and spark public discourse and critical thinking—ultimately serving as a medium for social transformation.
Within the field of photography studies, interviews with photographers about their creative philosophies contribute to constructing the core historical materials of Taiwanese photography. At the same time, they highlight the diversity of photographers’ aesthetic practices and cultural positions. This process is not only an accumulation of historical archives but also an act of knowledge production, making documentary film a key text and academic resource for understanding the development of photography in Taiwan.

Exhibitor's Profile or Exhibitor's Introduction
Professor Lin Tso-Hsien is a cross-disciplinary artist born in Taitung. After retiring from public service in August 2018, he transformed a major life tragedy he experienced at the age of fifteen—through years of hard-working to heal and move forward—into a source of positive strength. This journey was later adapted into a television drama titled “The Six of Us”, produced by Da Ai Television and released in August 2025.
Professor Ma Li-Chun (Director) was born in a military dependents’ village in Taichung. He left the media industry in November 2017 and, driven by his passion for visual creation, founded the “One Image” platform to promote Taiwanese photography. Through documentary filmmaking, he has helped Taiwanese photographic creators gain international visibility.
