Congratulations《Lottery Escalator》Won the Gold Award.

Under the guidance of Professor Yu Shuyin from the Department of Commercial Design at Ming Chuan University, the works of four students — He Yijia, Zhang Qiaoxin, Bai Yanling, and Weng Xuanchen — titled “Lottery Escalator”, stood out in the fierce competition of the Golden Calf Award and won the Theme Gold Award at the Xuejia Tzu Chi Temple. This honor is not only a high recognition of our students’ creative designs but also the best proof of the achievements in our teaching.

The inspiration for “Lottery Escalator” comes from the “lottery drawing” service at the Xuejia Tzu Chi Temple. The overall design features the Taipei MRT Jiantan Station, which is located near Ming Chuan University, with the electric escalator inside the station as the backdrop. At the entrance of the escalator, an advertisement bearing the Xuejia Tzu Chi Temple’s logo, with the phrase “Today’s Fortune?” is placed on the step, sparking passengers’ curiosity.
The entire escalator transforms into a giant lottery tube, with each step representing a different fortune slip, including categories like “Great Blessing,” “Medium Blessing,” “Blessing,” and “Wealth and Prosperity.” The typically mundane escalator is given a vibrant and dynamic makeover, making the usual ride more enjoyable. At the same time, it subtly promotes the Xuejia Tzu Chi Temple.
This creative concept was also applied by the students to various products such as phone cases, eco-friendly cups, and keychains, blending creativity with the cultural theme of the award. As a result, it was selected as the Gold Award-winning entry.
